From the Altar....
Pastor started by saying, Today I am going to speak on
the subject which is a bit difficult because it has been misinterpreted by both
congregation and some Preachers.
That is why we heard some Preachers are labeled as
Prosperity Preachers and also others are Poverty Preachers.
Today I want to you to get in depth understanding on
this subject of Keys to Prosperity
Let us read these bible verses first;
3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou
mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
From the above scripture it is God plan that we should
prosper
Open also 1 John 2 :15
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man
love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
Christian should also be alerted to be careful to the
love of the world and things of the world, because for others to prosper is to
love the world and its things
Let us see how God prosper his people in the Bible and
what was the key for their prosperity;
Genesis 39:1-6
“1 And Joseph
was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the
guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had
brought him down thither.
2 And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous
man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and
that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served
him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into
his hand.
5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made
him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the
Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all
that he had in the house, and in the field.”
6 And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he
knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly
person, and well favoured.
Before Joseph went to Potiphar he was put into pit
because their relative envy him because of his vision, so they wanted to kill
him.
This teaches me that we have to be very careful with
whom are you sharing your vision. It might be your blood brother or brother in
Christ, they can discourage and disappoint your vision sometimes.
From the story in above scripture, Potiphar was not a
Christian and he did not know God of Israel but he saw something of God in
Joseph.
Prosperity that Joseph had was for a purpose, Some
people misinterpreted prosperity that is for “me” only.
If God has blessed us, the blessing is not for
ourselves it is for the church and extension of God `s Kingdom.
You don’t have to fight for your right God will
intervene.
God can turn your haters into elevators
From John 15: 2 “Every branch in me that beareth not
fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that
it may bring forth more fruit.”
From above scripture you may be passing through pains
but know that it is preparing you for better position. As the vein which does
not bear fruit can be taken away for it to bring more fruits.
As for Joseph he was in Jail for 13 years but later
promoted to Prime Minister position.
For us to be prospered there are Key issues to
consider.
