Opening Scripture John 7:37-39

37 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”[a] 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

 

Man composed of three parts;

1.      Body

Outer physical part

You can touch it

You can see with physical eyes

You can feel it

 

2.      Spirit and Soul

Invisible

They work together

You cannot separate them

 

Body will die and separated from Spirit and Soul, but Spirit and Soul cannot be separated they can go together in hell or heaven

 

Our Physical body need water to survive, without water it will dehydrate then die

God has placed in-built sensors in our body when body get dehydrated sensors will send information that there is no water

Just as body needs water for its sustenance similarly Spirit needs Spiritual water for its survival

The Spiritual water is the Holy Spirit

In Verse 37  it says On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink

Jesus shouted meaning this was an important announcement

Most of us are concentrating on outer man and disregarding the inner man

Feeding and ensuring it looks nice

But I want to tell you today the outer man is temporary but inner man will live forever

 

The Invitation from Jesus is surrounded by two facts;

1.      Invitation it is given by none but Jesus Christ himself

Jesus the Son of God is extending an Invitation

Jesus is faithful he is not a liar

When he invite he make sure he is going to grant it

John 3: 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again

Jesus cannot be overthrown

He can do it

He has invited you

He can fill you

You cannot teach, pray because we are trained or of theology , it is not by mighty or power but by my spirit say the Lord of Host

You cannot do a ministry on your own do in Spirit

Learn and be filled with the HOLY SPIRIT

 

2.      If any man thirst ;

a.      He must realize that he has a need

Even if you have been filled with Holy Spirit years ago, you can pass through desert and dehydration not because you have sin, it can be because of many things that surrounds you

 

b.      Let him come to me

There must be a willingness to go to Jesus

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

A person must come because he has realized that he is thirst

 

Are You Thirst ….

Jesus has sent an Invitation Come and Drink from him, even if you are filled you can be re-filled Come…
